Mr. Tony Zahra, is the Chairman founder of the Alpine Group having set up the first company in 1967. During the past 40 years, aside from leading the Group through its successful growth, he has also been a leading figurehead in the Malta driving momentum on policy makers through the various appointments with Constituted Bodies as well as holding various Governmental appointments.
Such appointments included Corporations set up to promote and support the development of industries in Malta such as the Malta Development Corporation, essential state owned operations such as the Malta International Airport and Air Malta, and strong lobby groups such as the Federation of Industries, the Malta Chamber of Commerce and more recently the presidency of the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.
He is currently also the Chairman of the Malta Industrial Parks (MIP) being responsible for the management and the administration of all government owned industrial zones and estates in Malta and Gozo, and the allocation of sites and factories for new economic investment projects.
In 1994 he was also appointed Hon. Consul and still holds the position of Hon. Consul General for the Republic of Lithuania in Malta. He was decorated with the Cross of Officer of the Order of Lithuania Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania for services rendered to Lithuania.
